WHICH ARE THE TWO COUNTRIES WHERE IT SNOWS THE MOST IN THE WORLD?

The two countries where the most snow falls in the world are Japan and Canada. Although we are going to focus more on Japan for being number one on the list, the truth is that St. John's in Canada is the fourth city in which it snows the most in the world. The snow reaches more than three meters of snow thickness on average. In addition, it is a city with many tourist attractions that we recommend you visit. On the other hand, Japan is home to the three whitest cities. The first one, Aomori, a small town where the snow can be up to eight meters thick!

The second largest city in Japan is Sapporo which celebrates this meteorological phenomenon every year with the Sapporo Snow Festival. Finally, in the center of the Japanese country we have Toyama, a city recently built after World War II and whose skyline is snowy mountains.

AOMORI THE PLACE WHERE IT SNOWS THE MOST IN THE WORLD

Aomori is a city on the northern coast of Japan nestled between mountains. Its inhabitants are already used to carrying a shovel in their hand during the winter and that the roads remain closed during this season. The reason why so much snow falls is that being between the mountains of Hakkoda and Mutsu Bay, it receives many intense storms. The clash between the mountains and the sea creates a lot of clouds and makes it snow easily. In addition, Japan has mountains up to 3,000 meters high along the coast, which causes humid air to rise and fall rapidly as snow.

Many times we have seen how important cities have been isolated by a heavy snowfall, is this different in Aomori? The reality is that it is not. The train line that connects Aomori with Tokyo has a system that prevents collapses. Everything in this city is equipped to survive low temperatures since all the trains have stoves in front of the passenger seats.

As a curiosity, the city of Aomori has an electric heating system on the sidewalks that raises the temperature and manages to melt snow and ice.
