EVERYTHING YOU CAN DO AT THE GRUPO ARAMÓN STATIONS

Thinking of a little getaway to Aragon? The Aramón group has been home to most of the ski resorts in this province since 2002, its five resorts in the Aragonese Pyrenees and the Teruel Iberian System, are Cerler, Valdelinares, Javalambre, Formigal and Panticosa, although these last two have been grouped as one. The different seasons offer multiple perfect activities to complement traditional skiing, which we will tell you about below. At Uller we have the great pleasure of being official sponsors of these stations, and without a doubt it is something that not only makes us proud as a brand, but also as people. Each one of our team members has skied in one of them for as long as we can remember, and we keep the best memories. Brutal landscapes, an offer that goes beyond skiing and the quality of the slopes that never leaves us indifferent. We enjoyed the Aramón stations so much that today we want to show you everything you can do in them that you may not have known about. You're going to freak out!

CERLER STATION

Starting with Cerler, the station in the Ribagorza region, with its 60 peaks. The ski resort is 1,530 meters and we can slide down peaks that reach 3,000 meters of altitude, this being the most complete. This is made up of 67 tracks: 15 black, 25 red, 18 blue and 9 green; furthermore 2 are for cross-country skiing and 3 are suitable for slaloms. Pleasing, thanks to its variety, both lovers of more alternative modalities such as freeride or freestyle, with a snowpark with multiple modules and jumps to practice. The station pleases both new riders and those of higher levels, being able to develop several modalities: alpine skiing, cross-country skiing, freeride, freestyle, snowboard, etc.

We begin this visit by talking about its most rebellious part, the terrain or snowpark, in this we find boxes, red and black railings, tubes, flat boxes, downhill tubes... and a long etcetera. In addition, we continue adding, since while the "older" practice their tricks in this, the park has been converted to also accommodate the more children and family audience, creating the Basibé for this, an annex sector. Both are located in the area of "El Rincón del Cielo".

In 2021 it has expanded its ski slope extension in the Cantonese area, thus reaching 80 skiable km, which characterizes it for having a sufficiently extensive width, while giving it manageability. Its very miticulous descents are Quebrantahuesos, Marmotas or Canal Amplia, so we recommend you not leave there without trying them. And we don't know anything else about this station, but motivation gives you plenty, because who doesn't like to be given a badge for skiing? Well, Cerler will give it to you if you manage to reach the offices located in El Molino, yes, after having descended the 9 km of track, the longest on the peninsula. It is true that it does not involve any difficulty and is more of a walk, but if you fancy a different experience it is a good option.

Since 2014, Cerler received the award for the best ski resort in Spain for three consecutive years, specifically the Ski Best Resort, and is on the list of the 25 best resorts in the world. And it is that for such a top station it was not enough to offer only ski activities, but also leaves space for the most posturing: photo in the famous heart of Cerler after getting off the chairlift of love. We can also have a good time dog sledding, see the skyline delighting us with its white sunset, go snowshoeing or even open the slopes with the activity “open track” that they offer. This is a good alternative if you don't dare to freeride yet but want to try skiing on freshly plowed snow, nothing to do with off-piste, but it's always a treat!

Cerler, like the rest of the Aramón group stations that we will talk about below, has webcams, which will help us better plan the area where we want to start the day, as well as having information on any incidence that there is.

JAVALAMBRE AND VALDELINARES STATIONS

From Cerler we head towards Valdelinares, exactly to what is known as Teruel snow, where freestyle lovers have a VIP pass, since for accessing the snowpark the station has its own exclusive lift to access it. Going down from this we will find rails, jumps and up to twenty-five modules of different levels to please everyone.

The small resort, with almost 15 skiable km, has 9 ski lifts for the 17 slopes and the snowpark, a cozy space on the Villarejo slope. Giving us the opportunity to practice alpine skiing in a cozy environment. This has hosted events such as Madisson Snowboard or Revolution Day.

Does this taste little to you? Well, very close we find its "sister", the 17 km station Javalambre, with its 16 slopes and 13 ski lifts, it offers us two locations to hit the most "alternative" modalities of this sport: freestyle and freeride. On the one hand, if you want to continue hitting tricks, doing jumps and perfecting your K-fed, take the chairlift to Portillo. The Lapiaz area will be one of the places with the most modules and different railings and one that gives you the opportunity to make a good final jump.

Regarding the freeride, although we already know that there are no tracks for this, the small station offers us a small circuit of dubbies after descending the Amanaderos track.

Las hermanas are small, but a good option for a more familiar audience, hosting a sleigh track for the little ones to enjoy.

THE FORMIGAL-PANTICOSA STATION

We have left the most renowned station for last, the Formigal-Panticosa station. We are in Huesca, specifically in the Pyrenean town of Sallent de Gállego. The first thing to mention is that they are not the same, but that they are connected by a Ski-Bus that will make it easier for you to move between one and the other. In the Formigal sector, this is taken in the Formigal urbanization and takes you to Sextas and Anayet; while, from the Panticosa sector , it stops at all the hotels in the area and will leave us at the bottom of the Formigal cable car.

The “double” station has 182 skiable kilometers with a snow level that ranges from 1.145 at 2.265 meters, which are covered by 147 slopes: 12 green, 36 blue, 52 red and 42 black. That in terms of skiing on the slopes, but there is also room for freestyle. Both Formigal and Panticosa have their own Terrain park. In Formi, at its very entrance they remind us of the importance of safety in this modality and the rules to follow. Within this we find the Skity Park, to take your first steps and introduce yourself to freestyle. The advantage of this snowpark is that the areas are differentiated by levels indicated by the black, red and blue lines. These paths have been consciously devised so that you can progress according to them. As we have told you before, in Panticosa is its twin, Fobas Park. Both have rails, cells, half-pipe…

The resort also has other types of activities such as a boarder cross, to feel like you are in a real competition challenging your friends. On the other hand, if you want to go one step further, Formigal also has permanent slalom, which you can rent, but in which you can also participate in the competitions hosted and organized by the resort. Some of the events at this station have been neither more nor less than the FTP, where the best riders in Spain participate; the King of Am or “anti-competition”; and the one with good vibes, the Txoripapa.

This station is complete! That is why it is one of the favorites of influencers who love white sports such as María Pombo, Marta Riumbau or Mery Turiel.

Any other plans beyond skiing? As in the previous ones, activities are offered such as the skyline, snowshoeing, sledding, ski ratrack... Ski ratrack? It is an activity that began in Formigal in 2007 and consists of: a group of people with their skis and hooked in a row to a rope that will be dragged by a snow treader or ratrack. This will take us to virgin snow slopes, showing us a spectacular landscape.

Do the daylight hours fall short? This is not a problem. In addition to the party that awaits you in Marchica thanks to Diego Aguas, you will find the wide variety of restaurants that the resort offers, such as the Glera cabin: a dinner 2000 meters from altitude. And there's tobogganing! This activity begins at 7:00 p.m., when the station has closed, after a dinner in a little piece of Italy, the Trattotoria Canal, you have the opportunity to finish the dessert in style, with a descent slide down a 2.5 km track. Finally, if you are a good group we suggest another one called “Noches de Glera”, dine in a mackerel for 2.000 meters of altitude with a capacity of up to 18 people that can only be reached by Ski Ratrack, what a great plan eh.
