He touched the snow slopes for the first time at the hands of his father, who took him to the descents mounted on the back in his backpack. His father, very surprised, saw that his 2-year-old son was not afraid of descents; on the contrary, they made him very happy.

So as soon as he learned to walk, he got on his first skis at the age of 3 and has since started competing in alpine skiing. But Aymar knew that there was something beyond the mountain. 3. SURVIVING AN AVALANCHE

In 2013, while filming a video for one of his sponsors, he got caught in an avalanche, but his team allowed him to be on the snow and visible to the helicopter that ended up rescuing him. Luckily, that team had ABS, something that, for those unfamiliar with skiing jargon, is a system that has a similar function to the airbag in a car. In this case, it allowed the skier to float at the time of the avalanche. Since then, Aymar has not left behind his shovel, arva, and backpack with the ABS that saved his life.
