FREERIDE WORLD TOUR 2022: THIRD PHASE AND TICKETS TO THE FINAL
Have you followed the latest news from the Freeride World Tour? If you have been attentive to all the news, surely you enjoyed the second stage of the tour as much as we did. Andorra welcomed the skiers in an incredible way and, thanks to the conditions in which the snow was found and the quality of the athletes, we were able to enjoy skiing like never before!
Now the time has come to tell you everything that happened to the skiers in the fast-paced third stage of the FWT, which took place in Kicking Horse, Canada. Some of our rides have had the opportunity to go directly to the FWT final thanks to a high position in the ranking. Instead, the rest is going to play everything in the Canadian station. Only the best will enjoy the last phases that will be held in Austria from March 15 to 20 and in Verbier (Switzerland) from March 26 to April 3. Do you want to know the results? WHAT IS THE KICKING HORSE MOUNTAIN STATION LIKE?
This Canadian destination is a favorite for freeriders in the British Columbia region. Every year it receives people from all over the world who have the chance to enjoy the powder snow it offers skiers. It has slopes of all levels for both skiers and snowboarders. The possibilities of freeriding are limitless and the scenery is beast!
HOWEVER… WHAT HAVE BEEN THE CONDITIONS IN THE THIRD STAGE OF FWT 2022?
The truth is that for many skiers, the conditions they were in the snow and the wind have played a trick on them. The concern came two days before the competition in which a 115km/h wind destroyed all the preparations that had cost the organizers and guides a lot of work. Thus, they all had to reach an agreement to find a solution and for the championship to be held without risks. In such a way that most of the structures were transferred to the other side of the station, whose conditions were not the best either, but which at least allowed the third stage to be completed successfully.
SECOND VICTORY FOR VIKANDER AND COMPLICATIONS FOR CASTÁN
In the women's snowboarding category, the American Erika Vikander already won her second victory in the FWT. With a very personal style, we see Vikander descend through the Canadian mountains without problems and with various jumps that leave us speechless.
The Spanish Nuria Castán had no better luck and, despite her excellent performance in the two previous stages, the Canadian tracks knock her out of the competition with a result of 5120 points.
ABEL MOGA GOES TO THE FWT FINALS
Moga barely gets a pass to the final, since in an attempt to do a backflip he loses his skis and doesn't finish the round. As he has shown us in the two previous phases, the Aranese likes to take risks in his jumps. We regret that on this occasion they did not turn out as expected, although he obtained the ticket to the final thanks to his performances in Baqueira and Ordino Arcalís.
As for Aymar Navarro, the other male ski representative, unfortunately he had to leave the competition due to a positive PCR test. We wish you a speedy recovery! In addition, Aymar had a very good position after his relegation in Ordonio Acalís, which left him in fourth position with 7,200 points.
THIRD PHASE SUCCESSES
The aforementioned Erika Vikander was followed by Canadian Katie Anderson who managed to overcome difficult conditions at high speed. Finally, the World Champion, Manuela Mandl enters the podium thanks to a very technical entry from the second start that impressed both the public and the judges.
In men's snow Camille Armand continues to conquer podiums and comes first in this round, something of which he confirms that he is very proud "I feel good for taking the test today, and I'm also happy because my current ranking fills me with confidence for the upcoming events. If I go for the world title? We'll see about that!"
In the women's ski modality we were surprised with the descent of Lily Bradley since it seemed as if the bad weather conditions did not affect her; she was skiing with great fluidity from a technical input.
Finally, the victory in men's skiing goes to the Swiss Maxime Chabloz who in his round has combined incredible freestyle tricks with which the judges and the public have been clearly surprised.
HOW IS THE RANKNG STANDING FOR THE FREERIDE TOUR 2022 FINAL?
As you may have seen, the Freeride World Tour is full of emotions and after this complicated stage we are left with the following list of riders who will advance to the final. In total there are 25 between the two categories, counting men and women.
The rest of the participants remain on the list of the Freeride World Qualifier Finals, which was created so that the largest number of riders could participate in a competition. Also, to move on to the great Freeride World Tour you need to have spent at least a year in the FWQ qualifier. This is the final list of riders for the first round of the final to be held in Fieberbrunn, Austria:

The difference between the Freeride World Tour and the Freeride Word Qualifier is that to access the former you must stay one year among the Freeride Word Qualifier qualifiers, in which the three best results obtained during the anus.
